At Pettherapy.be we are looking for a passionate animal behaviorist to join our young company in full growth. As an animal behaviorist, you play an essential role in improving the behavior of dogs, cats and/or rodents, contributing to the overall well-being of these animals. Our focus region is Mechelen - Lier - Aarschot - Leuven.

Responsibilities

1. Behavioral assessment and advice: You conduct thorough behavioral assessments of pets and analyze their behavioral problems. Based on this, you provide expert advice to pet owners, recommending effective strategies and techniques to address and improve behavioral problems.

2. Behavior Therapy: You will develop and implement customized behavior therapy plans to address pet behavior problems. This includes guiding owners in understanding and managing their pets' behavior, providing training sessions, and supporting owners in implementing behavioral changes.

3. Education and outreach: You will organize workshops, training sessions and information programs to raise owners' awareness of animal behavior, behavior problems and preventive measures. You are able to convey complex information in an understandable way and support owners in making informed decisions regarding the behavior and welfare of their pets.

4. Team collaboration: You will be part of a small, close-knit team where your input is invaluable. You will work closely with the case manager and other team members to improve and expand our services. Your comments, ideas and expertise are highly valued and play an important role in shaping the future of our company.

5. Occasionally you will work as a consultant on our info and sales stand with which we participate in selected fairs, fairs and events. You are the first point of contact for people with questions about animal behavior problems and animal welfare. You will also advise customers on suitable accessories for their animals offered at the stall.

Qualifications

- A degree in animal behavior science, veterinary medicine supplemented by behavior therapy, animal psychology or a related field.

- Proven experience working with pet behavior problems, with dogs, possibly cats and/or rodents is a plus.

- In-depth knowledge of animal behavior, learning principles and training methods.

- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with owners and colleagues. Knowledge of other languages (French/English) is a plus.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize and provide results-oriented solutions.

- Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment and willingness to work on-site as needed.

Offer

At Pettherapy.be, we offer a stimulating work environment where your passion for animal behavior and welfare is valued. We are committed to ongoing growth and development, supporting your professional growth. As part of our team, you will have a direct impact on the success of our business and the opportunity to contribute to a better life for pets and their owners.

We offer you a contract as a self-employed therapist where you choose how many hours you want to work, and this at a very correct remuneration as a subcontractor. No investments are required.
