About Evie
A short while after she started as a volunteer at the animal shelter, Evie Van Hove decided to embark upon an academical journey as animal behaviourist. This in combination with a practical training for dogs. That way she would be able to assist animals – in need of therapy or training – in a professional and responsible way, based upon the most recent scientific insights. For this she enrolled in the internationally renowned and certified training PgD Clinical Animal Behaviourist (Odisee – University of Applied Sciences), in combination with a practical course at Kyno-Coach. Besides that, Evie follows refresher trainings on a regular basis. That way she remains up-to-date with the newest developments in the field of behavioural science.
Mesmerized by her academical journey of discovery and the observation that – practically – a lot of people are struggling with their pets while not knowing how to solve these issues, she decided to turn her passion into a profession. As such, Charlievie and Pettherapy.be were founded in 2021. Her goal? Balance your pet with themselves and their environment, and as such help every pet and every owner of having a happy future together.
About Patricia
Patricia Vanbrussel had a long career as the manager of a translation agency, but a few years ago she retrained as an Animal Behaviour Technician at Odisee University of Applied Sciences. She chose to completely change course and follow her vocation. Today she starts working as a behaviorist for dogs and cats at Pettherapy.be, where she will work from the practice in Keerbergen as well as at home.
Here as well, her enthusiasm and passion for the profession guarantee the quality of her work!
About Liesl
The youngest member of our family of animal lovers is veterinarian Liesl Decock. She graduated from the University of Ghent and decided to further specialize in behavior.
As a veterinarian, if any underlying conditions are suspected, she can perform the necessary medical examinations and/or prescribe medication relevant to behavioral problems. Besides treating behavioral problems in dogs and cats at Pettherapy.be, she also works part-time as a veterinarian in a companion animal practice.

Every animal has the right to feel good in their environment. Owners are capable of good communication with their animals, they understand them well, and they know how to interact with them correctly.
Our mission
We attempt to balance every animal with themselves and their environment. We do this by using positive reward-based behavioural correction, therapy, training and instruction. Also we train the owners – by effective teaching – how to handle their animals in the correct way in accordance with the most recent scientific insights. This way we want to set a standard of good practices in the Benelux.
We engage ourselves to invest a part of our revenue and profit in those non-profit organizations that step up for animal welfare, and to assist them with suggestions, advice and help.
