Open Day in Vlissingen: An unforgettable day full of discoveries!
On 21 September, we proudly opened the doors of our yard in Vlissingen to our employees, their family, and friends. What a day it was! Nearly 1,500 visitors came to take a behind-the-scenes look, and it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we work on daily.
A unique tour of impressive projects
Visitors had the chance to experience our greatest pride up close: the parts of the bridges and substations we are building. During the tour, we went not only over but also under and alongside these impressive constructions. This offered a unique perspective on the technical feats we achieve. It was a rare opportunity to see these kinds of projects up close, and the reactions were fantastic. People were amazed at the scale and complexity of our work.
Fun activities for young and old
In addition to the tour, there were plenty of fun and interactive activities. One of the highlights was undoubtedly virtual welding, where visitors could experience what it's like to be a welder in a safe, virtual environment. The skyview was also a great success. With a breathtaking view over our yard and the surrounding area, everyone could see Smulders Projects Netherlands from a whole new perspective. Additionally, visitors could operate cranes themselves (thanks to Aertssen), which generated much enthusiasm and surprisingly well-performed maneuvers!
After all these impressive experiences, there was of course also time to relax. Everyone could have a nice chat over a snack and a drink. It was great to see colleagues, friends, and family come together to share their experiences and create new memories. We are already looking forward to the next edition and hope to see many enthusiastic faces again!
