About the childcare centre

Peutertoren childcare centre is located on Albert Servaeslaan, at the rear of the Torenhof municipal primary school. The centre is managed on a day-to-day basis by team coach Hilde Parmentier.

How we work

The childcare centre provides care for children aged 0 to 3 years in three spacious groups. We have places for 42 children.

The children are divided into three mixed-age groups: Hummeltjes, Pagadders and Pebbels. The youngest children can sleep according to their own rhythm and needs, helping them feel comfortable and at ease. In the morning, our hand puppet Joske visits the children to tell them about the fun activities planned for the day. After afternoon snack time, we create a cosy atmosphere with music and dancing.

At 9 a.m., we start the day with circle time. We welcome one another, choose a “child of the day” and sing, jump, play, do arts and crafts, and much more. We encourage independence and self-reliance, helping children prepare for the next step, such as starting school.

We also provide extra care for children who need urgent childcare, ensuring that they too feel safe and welcome, because we believe everyone deserves the same level of care.

At Peutertoren, we believe it is important to provide a warm and safe nest for every child. We pay close attention to the children’s needs and the parents’ wishes, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and heard.

Our activities are based on learning through experience, allowing children to grow through playful and educational experiences. We always communicate openly and honestly, keeping parents well informed about their child’s well-being. In addition, we provide varied, fresh meals every day to help children stay healthy and full of energy.

Our caring team, with many years of experience, is ready every day to look after your child. We also regularly organise activities for parents, allowing them to remain actively involved in their child’s development.

Regarding the childcare schedule

To ensure that we can fully fulfil our pedagogical role and build a strong bond with your child, your child must attend childcare for an average of at least four full days per week. Half-day attendance is not possible.

Kindercentrum cannot guarantee the minimum number of childcare days at the start of the placement, which means your child may initially attend fewer days. As soon as occupancy allows, the childcare provider will inform you, and the number of childcare days must be increased to at least four days per week.
