Mezennestje is a childcare facility with a long-standing tradition in Wingene. We have space for 47 children between the ages of 0-3 years.

Operation

The children are divided into four mixed-age groups: Foxes, Squirrels, Bees, and Owls. Each group has its own identity, but we always strive to create a warm, homely atmosphere in each one.

For the youngest children in the groups, we focus heavily on providing a sense of security, motor and language development, plenty of encouragement, and most importantly, lots of cuddles. Every child has their own routine, and we try to follow it as closely as possible. This way, we ensure that every child feels at home with us.

As soon as we notice that children need more challenges, we further promote their development within the group. We observe which areas need extra stimulation and adjust our daily activities accordingly: for example, potty training, crafts, sensory activities, etc. In short, something for everyone.

We have 15 caregivers and 1 logistics staff member who are always responsible for looking after the children. Everyone contributes daily to providing high-quality care.

Sleeping Class (Slaapklas) at Centrumschool Wingene

In addition to our regular groups, we also offer a sleep class in collaboration with Centrumschool. Children who enter the toddler class have the option to enroll in our sleep class. Specifically, this means that we pick the children up from school around 11:30 AM. They receive a hot meal with us and can rest until 1:30 PM. At 2:00 PM, we bring the children back to school.

What we value

Under the motto, "It's always outdoor playtime," we place great importance on outdoor play. As soon as the sun peeks out, we take the children to one of our outdoor spaces. For the youngest children, we have an adapted terrace and a special zone in our garden. For those needing more challenges, we have a covered terrace and a sunny garden full of toys.
