About the childcare centre

Kastaar is one of our newer childcare centres, having joined Kindercentrum in 2021, and is located in Lichtervelde. The centre is managed on a day-to-day basis by team coach Hannah Lahousse.

How we work

Kastaar childcare centre consists of a small group for our youngest children and a second group, with a total capacity of 24 children.

At Kastaar, we create an environment that is fully tailored to each child’s needs and development. We have several dedicated play and activity areas, arranged according to the children’s ages and developmental stages. This allows them to play, explore and grow in a safe and stimulating environment.

Every child has their own bed, where they can sleep peacefully and recharge their batteries for another adventurous day. We make sure that every corner and every bed contributes to a sense of safety and security, allowing the children to relax fully and develop to their full potential.

What matters to us

As soon as the sun comes out, we take the children outside to enjoy the fresh air and open space. We have a cosy terrace and a large, green garden where the children can play freely, run around and explore. Outdoors, the possibilities are endless!

We encourage the children’s creativity by doing arts and crafts together, dancing and giving them the freedom to choose what they would like to do. Whether they are building a sandcastle, collecting leaves or making up a little dance, we encourage them to use their imagination and express themselves in their own way. This allows children to learn and grow through play in a fun and enjoyable way.

Regarding the childcare schedule

To ensure that we can fully fulfil our pedagogical role and build a strong bond with your child, your child must attend childcare for an average of at least four full days per week. Half-day attendance is not possible.

Kindercentrum cannot guarantee the minimum number of childcare days at the start of the placement, which means your child may initially attend fewer days. As soon as occupancy allows, the childcare provider will inform you, and the number of childcare days must be increased to at least four days per week.
