About the childcare centre

In 2021, we were delighted to welcome Iene Miene Mutte and Tien Pond Grutten into the Kindercentrum vzw family. The centres are managed on a day-to-day basis by team coach Lisa Mulier.

How we work

As of 1 July 2025, we are introducing a name change. Our familiar locations, Iene Miene Mutte and Tien Pond Grutten, will operate under one clear name: Iene Miene Mutte (known respectively as Iene Miene Mutte 1 and Iene Miene Mutte 2).

This new name reflects the fresh direction our organisation is taking and ties in perfectly with the opening of our brand-new childcare location, Iene Miene Mutte 3, planned for 1 September 2025, just across the road at Hille 1A.

The building at Varentakker 1 and 3 houses two separate groups: Iene Miene Mutte 1 and Iene Miene Mutte 2 (formerly Tien Pond Grutten). A new group will open at Hille 1A from 1 July.

Iene Miene Mutte 1 has one mixed-age group with 14 children. Iene Miene Mutte 2 (formerly Tien Pond Grutten) also has one mixed-age group, with space for 14 children. The third group, Iene Miene Mutte 3, will likewise accommodate 14 children. This brings the total capacity across the three groups to 42 children.

All groups work with a mixed-age approach, paying close attention to each child’s individual needs. We always provide enough space and a calm environment for children to discover the world around them and take in new experiences at their own pace.

Our day always starts with a cosy circle time, where we enjoy activities with hand puppets, songs and stories. It is a lovely opportunity to welcome one another and start the day together.

We offer a wide variety of toys and play areas, allowing children to explore independently and develop their own play. We also have a lovely outdoor play area where we enjoy spending time whenever the weather is nice. Here, children can play to their heart’s content and enjoy the fresh air.

We provide a warm and familiar environment where every child feels safe and welcome. We attach great importance to each child’s individual needs, recognising that every child is unique and has their own way of growing and developing.

That is why we tailor our care and attention to what each child needs, allowing them to develop to their full potential at their own pace.

Our team consists of motivated and dedicated childcare practitioners who put their heart and soul into caring for the children. We want to be a second home for every child, a place where they feel seen, heard and valued.

With plenty of love and care, we ensure that the children feel safe and secure, giving them the confidence to explore the world around them.

Regarding the childcare schedule

To ensure that we can fully fulfil our pedagogical role and build a strong bond with your child, your child must attend childcare for an average of at least four full days per week. Half-day attendance is not possible.

Kindercentrum cannot guarantee the minimum number of childcare days at the start of the placement, which means your child may initially attend fewer days. As soon as occupancy allows, the childcare provider will inform you, and the number of childcare days must be increased to at least four days per week.
