About the daycare center

On October 1, we will open the doors of our newest daycare center: De Oostkampioentjes! 🎉

In this cozy, small-scale childcare setting with space for 14 children, we create a warm and safe environment where every child can grow, explore, and above all... be themselves.

The center’s operations are supported by team coach Alessia Oosthuyse.

Starting in May 2026, we will further expand our location at Schooldreef 42 with 10 additional childcare places. From then on, we will work with two groups:

• De Speelkampioentjes (The Play Champions)
• De Knuffelkampioentjes (The Cuddle Champions)

For us, Oostkamp is a new region, and we look forward to building a trusted place here together with parents and families—a home for our little champions.

And the story doesn’t end there: in April 2027, this team will move to its permanent location in the Sint-Jozef Living and Care Village, part of Zorg H. Familie Group – Oostkamp region. There, we will expand once again and welcome a third group.

Regarding priority rules

As a primary measure, we apply the statutory priority rules established by Kind en Gezin (the Flemish agency for child and family services). In addition to these primary priority rules, we apply an additional internal priority rule for families where one or both parents are employed by Groep Zorg H. Familie in the Oostkamp region.

Employees of Groep Zorg H. Familie in the Oostkamp region can apply for a childcare place for their child from the first day of pregnancy. Applications are prioritised according to the chronological order in which they are submitted. If a brother or sister is already attending Oostkampioentjes, these applications are given additional priority. Kindercentrum reserves the right to verify the employment role of staff members at Groep Zorg H. Familie in the Oostkamp region.

If no priority criteria apply, or if applications meet an equivalent combination of criteria, the chronological order of registration is respected.

Regarding the childcare schedule

To ensure that we can fully fulfil our pedagogical role and build a strong bond with your child, your child must attend childcare for an average of at least four full days per week. Half-day attendance is not possible.

Kindercentrum cannot guarantee the minimum number of childcare days at the start of the placement, which means your child may initially attend fewer days. As soon as occupancy allows, the childcare provider will inform you, and the number of childcare days must be increased to at least four days per week.

Employees of Groep Zorg H. Familie in the Oostkamp region may schedule a minimum of two fixed days per week, allowing them to better balance work and family life. However, regular attendance on several fixed days per week remains recommended to ensure continuity and support your child's well-being.
