Welkom bij De Kleine Oever!
About the childcare centre
De Kleine Oever is the newest childcare centre within Kindercentrum vzw and opened its doors on 19 January 2026. Located in a peaceful setting in Waardamme, it continues the warm tradition of the former Wolkenhuisje. De Kleine Oever has places for 33 children in an environment where a sense of security, play and development are central.
Together with parents, staff and partners, we consciously chose a name that conveys peace and closeness — exactly what we want to offer children during their first years.
At De Kleine Oever, we work according to the values that define Kindercentrum vzw: Welcome, Caring Together, Co-creation, Reliability and Growth. Every day, our childcare practitioners create a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore, play and grow at their own pace.
As part of our broader ambition to strengthen childcare capacity in the region, De Kleine Oever represents an important step in expanding our services for families in Oostkamp and the surrounding area.
Regarding priority rules
We apply the statutory priority rules established by Kind en Gezin (the Flemish agency for child and family services). As these rules are subject to regular changes, we kindly refer you to our website for the most up-to-date information: https://kindercentrum.be/nl/werkingsprincipes/
Regarding the childcare schedule
To ensure that we can fully fulfil our pedagogical role and build a strong bond with your child, your child must attend childcare for an average of at least four full days per week. Half-day attendance is not possible.
Kindercentrum cannot guarantee the minimum number of childcare days at the start of the placement, which means your child may initially attend fewer days. As soon as occupancy allows, the childcare provider will inform you, and the number of childcare days must be increased to at least four days per week.
