Guy Block (Partner at Janson) was invited by the Asian International Arbitration Center (AIAC) this 15th October 2019 to host a seminar on ‘Energy Contracts and Arbitration’: AIAC
The seminar aimed to review the recent case law useful to determine how to make the outcomes of energy related arbitral disputes more predictable. The discussion focused on the following hot topics:
1. Energy contracts and contractual clauses (take-or-pay, take-and-pay, price review, stabilization clause, hardship and force majeure); and
2. Protection of investments: a host state’s right to regulate vs. acquired investors’ rights.
